International standardization is considered as a catalyzer to capitalize on technology transfer from research, resulting on leadership in new markets and of gaining first-mover advantages in global market. Industry and other stakeholders are particularly keen to accelerate their cooperation in the development, implementation and use of standards supporting innovation in relation to the sustainable industrial tissue, and other areas particularly relevant for innovation.


Standardize the research results by International Standardization Bodies (e.g., CEN, ISO) has a strong impact on the transfer to industry throughout innovation, hence increasing the impact of research results in global standardization, facilitating the inclusion of universal knowledge, and making effective the access to information to all, in particular to SMEs.
